May Project Gardens is an award winning grassroots organisation, working with communities across South London to make environmentalism affordable, accessible and enjoyable.
They believe in the personal, social and economic benefits of reconnecting with nature in urban environments and work primarily with marginalised groups, who have less resources and influence within the mainstream environmental movements.
They use the creative arts to engage people regardless of language, culture or knowledge of environmentalism, to come together and find collective, sustainable solutions to social hardships.
This might include building allotments on housing estates or turning youth centres into youth-led green enterprises.
